The two wings

Njuh Europe

The women's wing of WICUDA Europe. Every chapter has its Njuh; together they form the women's body of the European association.

Njuh Europe is the women of WICUDA Europe organised as one body, so that the duties which fall to women in Wimbum custom are held with care in the countries where our families now live.

Membership follows chapter membership: a Wimbum woman who belongs to a European chapter belongs to Njuh. The wing meets on the chapter calendar through the year and comes together at the annual European convention.

Njuh works hand in hand with Nfuh Europe, the men's wing. Neither wing acts alone on matters that belong to the whole association; both answer to the European executive and to the constitution.

  • Mutual support

Sisters standing together at bereavements, births and marriages, and quietly through illness, new arrivals and hard seasons.

  • Language and upbringing

Limbum spoken to children born in Europe, songs, food and the manners that mark a Wimbum household.

  • The convention floor

Njuh carries much of the annual gathering: catering, reception of guests, the dances and the regalia that make the day.

  • Development at home

Contributions raised and accounted for towards health, school and water work in Donga-Mantung division.
